Driver’s License & Age Requirements

• Drivers must present a valid, non-expired driver’s license.
• No international driver’s license is required for visitors from Europe, North America, Central & South America, or Oceania.
• Minimum driver’s age: 23 years
• Additional drivers must also present their valid license to be covered by insurance.

Pick-up & Drop-off

• Office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Free pick-up and drop-off at the Guatemala City Airport (GUA) area or pre-arranged locations.
• Please provide arrival time and flight number for airport pickups.
• Vehicles must be returned on the agreed date and time. Late returns without prior approval may result in additional charges, including loss of subsequent rental income.

Payments & Liability

• A booking is confirmed once the required payment has been completed through the online payment system provided on this website.
• All card payments are processed by the respective gateway.
• Bitcoin payments made via Blockonomics are processed directly.
• No credit card security deposit is blocked or pre-authorized. Instead, the renter agrees to a contractual liability (deductible), which represents the maximum financial responsibility in case of damage, loss, or theft, as outlined below.

 
With CDW coverage:

• USD 1,500.- deductible for small vehicles
• USD 2000.- deductible for large vehicles

 
Without CDW coverage:

• USD 2100.- deductible for small vehicle
• USD 2600.- deductible for large vehicles
• Exclusions: water damage, reckless driving, off-road misuse.

• Standard insurance (Third Party Liability and Collision Damage Waiver) does not cover off-road damage, underbody damage, tires, water damage, or recovery costs.
• Such damages are the renter’s responsibility and are not limited by the deductible.
• Full details are provided in the Rental Agreement signed at vehicle handover.

Driving Restrictions

• Driving on beaches, riverbeds, or protected natural areas is prohibited.
• No driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• On 4×4-only tracks: If recovery is needed, towing costs are the renter’s responsibility until a standard road is reached.

Smoking Policy

• Smoking inside the vehicle or tents is strictly prohibited.
• A cleaning fee of USD 200 will apply for violations.

Cancellations

• Full refund for cancellations made more than 30 days before rental start.
• Less than 30 days: the 20% deposit will be credited towards a future booking.

Equipment

• All camping equipment is provided and explained at pick-up.
• Renters are responsible for proper use and care.
• Lost or damaged items will be charged at replacement cost.

Vehicle Return

• The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time. 
• Late returns without prior approval may result in additional charges, including loss of subsequent rental income.
• Vehicles are handed ober with a full tank and must be returned full (full to full). Refueling reseipts may be requested at drop off.
• Refueling must be done within 10km of drop off location to allow verification at return.
• Any damage, excessive cleanig or fuel discrepancies will be assessed according to the Damage & Wear catalog and may result in charges or deposit adjustments.

Fuel Policy

• The correct fuel type, as mentioned on the vehicle card and at the handover, must be used
• The vehicle must be refueled only at name branded fuel stations.
• Fuel from informal roadside sellers or unbranded source is strictly prohibited.
• Any damage caused by contaminated or incorrect fuel ist the renter’s responsibility and is not covered by insurance.
